32mm or 35mm pipe?

There is quite a bit of confusion about the size of waste pipe that goes into a standard 1 1/4 inch bottle trap. Is it 32mm or 35mm? The standard UK outlet pipe on a bottle trap is 35mm, although there are some continental bottle traps which have a 32mm outlet pipe. The simple way to tell is to look at the pipe that came with it. If it starts narrower and then flares up it is likely to be 32mm outlet pipe, and if this is the case, you may be better off buying a new trap as 32mm pipe is non standard and nigh on impossible to find.If it doesn't then you have a standard bottle trap with a 35mm outlet pipe. Or you could always just measure it!
